Tell us what is happening. We ask the right questions and book a time that suits you.
Step 2
A licensed plumber diagnoses it properly, with a drain camera, leak detection or a pressure test where it helps.

Step 3
You agree the price before any work starts. We quote the job, not the hour, so there are no surprise charges.

Most hot water faults come down to one part: a thermocouple, an element, a thermostat or a valve. We test the unit, write the price down, and fix the part if the tank is sound. If the cylinder itself is leaking, we size a new gas, electric, heat pump or continuous-flow system to your household and fit it, often the same day.
Whether you call it the hot water system, the water heater or the boiler, it's one of five things. A gas storage tank heats a full tank with a burner underneath. An electric storage cylinder does the same with one or two elements, often on a cheaper overnight tariff. A heat pump pulls warmth out of the air, like an air conditioner running backwards, and uses far less power to do it. A continuous-flow unit has no tank at all and fires only when a tap opens, so it never runs out but it does need the gas supply to keep up. Solar preheats the water on the roof and boosts it with gas or electricity. We service Rinnai, Rheem, Bosch, Dux, Aquamax and Vulcan, and we'll tell you plainly which one suits the way your house actually uses hot water.
Repair or replace is decided at the base of the tank. A dry cylinder with one dead part is a repair, whatever the age on the label. A cylinder weeping at a seam is finished, because the steel is going from the inside and no part can stop it. Between those two sits the judgement call: an older tank with a second fault in a year, or a relief valve failing again because the pressure was never limited. In those cases you get both prices in writing and a straight view on which one we'd pay for if it were our house. Nobody is going to talk you into a new system to fix a thermocouple.
A storage system heats and holds a tank of water. A continuous-flow unit heats water only when a tap opens. Both need the right pipework, valves and, for gas, a correctly sized gas supply.
No hot water, or only a short supply, usually means the heating side has stopped keeping up. On a storage tank that's a lower element gone on an electric unit, or a burner that keeps dropping out on gas. What you're getting is the last of yesterday's heat.
Signs of a leaking tank: a damp concrete pad, a rust stain on the bricks or a steady trickle from under the jacket. If it's coming from a fitting or a valve, that's a repair. If it's coming from the cylinder itself, no part will stop it.
Make sure we can get to the work area, and move anything fragile out of the way.
Let us know if there are pets at the property, and keep them away from the work area.
Tell us about parking, gate codes or building access when you book.
Note when the problem started and what you have seen. It helps us find the cause.
The one that suits what's already connected and how many showers run at once. A heat pump usually costs less to run than an electric storage tank. Where a gas line and a good outside wall are already there, gas storage or continuous flow is often the simpler change. We go through it at the door before you commit.
It depends on the type of system, whether it's a like-for-like swap or a change of fuel, how easy the spot is to reach and what the code needs fitted on the day. You get the full figure in writing before any work starts, and there's a $0 call-out on any job you book.
A gas storage tank on an existing gas line and outside wall is the simplest version. Continuous flow can need a bigger gas supply, and moving an indoor heater outside adds pipework. We price it on site once we've seen the meter, the pipe run and the position, and the number doesn't move once we start.
Yes. We supply the cylinder, fit it, connect it and take the old one away, so you don't have to buy a tank yourself and then find someone to put it in. We size it to the household and to the tariff it runs on.
Usually, on a like-for-like swap, because common Rinnai, Rheem and Dux units are carried on the truck. A change of fuel, a new position or electrical work can push it to a second visit, and you'll hear that on the phone before we book it.
We service Rinnai, Rheem, Bosch, Dux, Aquamax and Vulcan, gas and electric, storage and continuous flow. If yours is another make, read us the label over the phone and we'll tell you straight whether we can help.
No. Sydney Water says replacing a hot water system is a job for a licensed plumber, and anything touching gas needs a licensed gasfitter under NSW rules. The only plumbing a homeowner may legally do is minor work like changing a tap washer.
