You cleared the drain in autumn and it is backing up again before winter is out.
Whatever it's doing, it stops today.
Sewage is surfacing at the gully in the side passage and the smell has reached the back door. That one doesn't wait. We get the house draining first, then film the line to see what actually failed.

Sewer repairs in Sydney: we get the house draining first, then film the line to see what failed.

You cleared the drain in autumn and it is backing up again before winter is out.

Nothing drains and the camera stops.

Roots back in the line every spring.

Blocks in the same spot every time.
Not sure which one you need?

Step 1
Tell us what is happening. We ask the right questions and book a time that suits you.
Step 2
A licensed plumber diagnoses it properly, with a drain camera, leak detection or a pressure test where it helps.

Step 3
You agree the price before any work starts. We quote the job, not the hour, so there are no surprise charges.

Step 4
We finish the job, clean up, and back our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee.

Step 5
The figure for the whole job, in writing, before anyone starts. That figure is what turns up on the invoice.

A small, quick job is priced differently from a larger one that needs more time, parts or equipment.
How easy it is to reach the work area affects how long the job takes.
Any parts or materials the job needs are part of the price.
Work outside normal hours can be priced differently. Ask when you call.
Ask for our licence details and check them on the public register before any work starts.

Make sure we can get to the work area, and move anything fragile out of the way.
Let us know if there are pets at the property, and keep them away from the work area.
Tell us about parking, gate codes or building access when you book.
Note when the problem started and what you have seen. It helps us find the cause.
It depends on what failed, how deep it is, how much pipe is affected and what sits on top. A patch, a liner and a dig are very different jobs, so the price comes from the camera footage and is written down before we start.
Your private sewer is yours up to and including the point of connection to Sydney Water's main, even where that sits past the boundary. Sydney Water owns the main and the junction on it, although roots in the junction are still the owner's to clear.
Signs include sewage overflowing beyond your boundary, neighbours with the same problem, widespread local flooding, or an overflow that continues when no water is being used in the house. If only your place is affected and it only overflows when you use water, it is probably your pipe.
Most can. Cracks, root entry and open joints are patched or relined from inside. A collapsed or sagging section needs digging, but usually only that section.
Replacing means excavating, new pipe, bedding, inspection and restoring the surface, so depth and what sits on top drive the cost. Relining avoids most of that. Under open lawn a shallow dig can be competitive, while under concrete relining usually comes out ahead. We price whichever the footage supports.
We don't recommend it. Drain cleaners are poisonous to handle and breathe, they don't touch roots or broken pipe, and they make the job more dangerous for whoever clears the line afterwards.
Sometimes. Its program for collapsed private sewers only covers a collapse on public land under a road or hard footpath, where relining won't work, and it can't do emergency repairs. We can give you the footage and findings from a licensed plumber that it asks for.
For drainage work, a Certificate of Compliance and a Sewer Service Diagram showing where the private sewer runs. Keep both with the house documents.
