About burst pipe repair
A burst pipe needs the water turned off at the meter tap straight away. We find exactly where it has split, cut out the damaged length and join in new copper, PEX or poly from the truck, then bring the pressure back and watch the meter hold. Buried or under a slab, we locate it before anything is dug, and the price is in writing first.
In older homes across the Inner West and Eastern Suburbs, it is often copper or galvanised in the ceiling or under a timber floor, where the first sign is a stain or a drip through the floorboards. In newer builds, it is often a braided flexi hose under a vanity or behind a toilet. In the yard, it is usually the blue poly service between the meter and the house, found by a spade or a fence post. On slab homes in the west, a burst hot line shows as warm tiles and a hot water unit that never stops. Each one starts the same way, water off at the meter, and ends with a different repair.
