Stormwater & Downpipe Jetting in Sydney
It rains properly for twenty minutes and the pit in the side yard fills to the top instead of taking water away, then backs up over the grate and across the path towards the back door.

The short answer
Champion Plumbing & Drains jets stormwater pits and downpipes across Sydney, clearing silt and leaves from the pipes between them so rain drains away again.
What happens when you get in touch
Step 1: Call or book online
Tell us what is happening. We ask the right questions and book a time that suits you.
Step 2: We find the cause
A licensed plumber diagnoses it properly, with a drain camera, leak detection or a pressure test where it helps.
Step 3: A fixed price, agreed first
You agree the price before any work starts. We quote the job, not the hour, so there are no surprise charges.
Step 4: Done right, guaranteed
We finish the job, clean up, and back our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee.
Step 5: You know the price first
The figure for the whole job, in writing, before anyone starts. That figure is what turns up on the invoice.

Questions and answers
The outlet at the bottom is silted or the line downstream is blocked, so the pit is doing its job as a settling chamber with nowhere to send the water. Scooping the leaves out of the top won't change that, because the problem sits below the water line.
Lifting the lid and scooping sludge out of each pit after autumn is worth doing yourself. Jetting is for when the line between pits has silted up, which you'll know because the pit stays full even when it is clean.
Clear leaves off the grate and out of the top of the pit, and check the downpipes aren't packed with leaves at the base. If the pit still won't empty, the blockage is in the pipe and it needs jetting.
Most homes don't need it on a timetable. Under big trees, or on a line that silts every season, a jet in late autumn before storm season is sensible. The footage from the first clean shows how quickly yours fills.
The pipes on your property are yours. Sydney Water runs stormwater services mainly in the south and south-west, and councils manage most of the rest, usually from the street gutter onwards.
It depends on how many pits and lines there are and how silted they are. There is a $0 call-out on any job you book, and the price is set out in writing before we start.
