Leaking Shower Head in Sydney
Leaking shower head in Sydney: a few drops after you turn it off is normal, but a drip that carries on until the next shower points to a worn part.
Tell us what's happening

The short answer
A drip that carries on after the shower is off usually comes from a worn washer, cartridge or diverter behind the wall, not from the head itself.
How it works
Step 1: Call or book online
Tell us what is happening. We ask the right questions and book a time that suits you.
Step 2: We find the cause
A licensed plumber diagnoses it properly, with a drain camera, leak detection or a pressure test where it helps.
Step 3: A fixed price, agreed first
You agree the price before any work starts. We quote the job, not the hour, so there are no surprise charges.
Step 4: Done right, guaranteed
We finish the job, clean up, and back our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee.
Step 5: You know the price first
The figure for the whole job, in writing, before anyone starts. That figure is what turns up on the invoice.

Questions and answers
Something upstream is letting water past when it should be shut: usually a washer in the shower taps, the cartridge in a mixer, or the diverter on a bath and shower set. The head is only where the water ends up.
Large heads hold water and drain for a short while after the tap closes. If the drip slows and stops, that is normal. If it keeps going, the tap or mixer behind it needs attention.
Sydney Water counts a tap washer as minor work an owner may legally do. Shower tap washers sit behind the tiles and often have pitted seats under them, so if a new washer has not stopped it, the seat needs re-cutting.
The washer or seal inside the head's connection has perished. It is a small part, and we check the arm's thread in the wall at the same time.
Only if the head itself is worn or you want a different one. A new head will not stop a drip that is coming from the tap or mixer.
The diverter that switches between them has worn. Replacing the diverter, or the spout it is built into, fixes it.
